Ah, I am not sure this “mission” statement any longer describes the day
to day activity on this list. Can this mission statement be changed please?
Short answer, no. Long answer … totally not.
tympan: why not just because you say so??
You know most of us don’t much discuss Heidegger any more. How did this
mission statement come about anyway? Did anybody regularly posting actually
contribute to its making?
I adapted it from the Spoon list statement, and it remains what it
constantly is and has been over the last decade. Whether or not you consider
the bulk of current postings to have anything to do with Heidegger I myself
am only interested in going forward with this online project as a Heidegger
writing project. Otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever to me. And while the
list seems to have settled into a polemic cycle I still find much that is
philosophically interesting to me and am looking forward to returning to my
writing.
tympan: come on get real who cares what you think here? How often do you
post here and share your ideas? What is all this me, me, me? You don’t
decide what this list is becoming but those who post to it do and that is
not you. Nobody here has a clue what you think.
But what are you suggesting by way of mission statements? I’d still be
interested to hear what you’d like changed.
tympan: but you said that according to *you* this was absolutely not up for
discussion? The only one here who is really interested in Heidegger is rene,
right? Everybody else is doing their own thing apart from being a Heidegger
clone. I don’t think anybody here wants to be a Heideggerian or associated
with such a label.
