Hi Anthony, thatPete and BobG and anyone else who might be interested,

just following along with the question of what anti-Americanism
actually means to you Americans I must say the last crop of responses
was not particularly enlightening. I think perhaps if you could give
me some specific quotes of anti-American speech I might be able to
form some sort of consistent criteria as to what constitutes anti-
Americanism. Humour me, I am just a foreigner after all living
literally on the other side of the world so what do I know?

In regards to this question then what about American anti-American
speech? Is there such a thing or does your constitutional right to
freedom of speech mean that all American speech is by definition pro-
American in that it upholds your first amendment? For instance what
do you think of the Scholars for 911 Truth? A group largely comprised
of over 200 US based academics and military, political and student
associates who maintain on scientific grounds that the collapse of
the twin towers and WTC7 can only be explained by the use of
controlled demolitions? Jeff King gives a good overview of their
empirical argument in this MIT lecture (viewable on the website):

Probably the most extreme American free speech I’ve come across on
the internet is your fellow Texan and Houston resident Captain Eric
May. He claims to be former US military intelligence now on a mission
of conscience, has called for the immediate arrest and detention of
the US executive and its collaborators and has issued a code red
emergency alert for a possible domestic nuclear terror attack by
rogue elements of the US secret government on Texas City Texas this
June 6. You can find examples of his extensive writings via a google
search:

And here’s a recent radio interview:

Now I do not for one second expect anyone here to agree with any of
the claims whatsoever that these fellow citizens of yours are making,
it’s the proscribed forms of public speech in the US that I’m
interested in. I’d just like to know if all or only some of these
Americans are anti-American in your views? They all claim to be true
American patriots of course like yourselves. So if you all could
provide me with specific examples of what you consider to be anti-
American speech here and the reasons why you think this it would be
much appreciated as I do genuinely want to understand where you’re
coming from. Please be advised that I have absolutely nothing against
any of you personally and when it comes right down to it we are all
in this world together as part of a much wider global community.

Cheers,

Malcolm

[…] The physics don’t even vaguely make sense, basically. For a start a good summary of the main arguments for demolition are in the Jeff King video on site at: http://heidegger.an-archos.com/archive/a… […]
