ME: Yes, Aristotle is a treasure trove for thinking on the polity. This
passage is to be read in conjunction with Eth. Nic. Book V, which served
Marx as _the_ source for his famous value-form-analysis in Das Kapital Chap.

Aristotle is asking a question not proposing a solution as is did Marx where
the draconian cure has proved worse than the malaise of “wickedness” if not
instituted such sickness as the instrument of the formal Marxist state.
