….Défoncer means, among other things, to knock the bottom out of, to break up, or to smash!.
Se défoncer means to work flat out. Here are a few expressions and usages:
Il se défonce sur scène: He gives it all on stage
Se défoncer: To go to the limit of yourself
Défoncer un mur: To break a hole in the wall/to bring down a wall (when renovating)
Défoncer quelque chose: To break down something
Se défoncer au travail: To work really hard at something
