Sorry, Les, this has taken a while… but can you elaborate on the “old
Rubenist/Poussinist debate between color and sensuality”: I’m unaware of
this debate.

And, of course, there are those who, in their stated love of death (mostly
in the form of mutilating the bodies of those others they bequeath their
gift to), claim to be painting with body parts in their satisfying their
desires… So: the paintings of death (painting is thusly not dead).
