Let’s first see the text of the lecture.

>Philip Baker:
>Found your first philosopher yet who treats Heidegger “more as a bad
>joke than as a serious thinker”?

Jud:
Well… I suppose we could start with Popper?

APPEAL
I appeal to the philosophers of all countries to unite and never
again
mention Heidegger or talk to another philosopher who defends
Heidegger. This man was a devil. I mean, he behaved like a devil to
his beloved teacher, and he has a devilish influence on Germany.
Sir Karl Popper.

Philip Baker
Sounds like Popper treated Heidegger very seriously, but I’ll let you
have it, although for starters I’ll quote someone rather less well
known, leaving the big guns for later.

“In any attempt to open and maintain lines of communication between
the estranged traditions of Anglo-American analytical philosophy and
those at present predominant in France and Germany, the texts of
Wittgenstein and Heidegger offer an invaluable resource.”
Stephen Mulhall, University of Essex
Wittgenstein and Heidegger: Orientations to the Ordinary
European Journal of Philosophy vol.2 no.2 Aug 1994 ISSN 0966 8373

Jud:
Your response to this asinine, transparent and totally unsuccessful
attempt at deflection by Arjakovsky, who deliberately omitted the
critical words *WITHIN THE NATION* is awaited with great interest.

Philip Baker
Let’s first see the text of the whole lecture. Then we can see who is
omitting what.

Philip Baker
