In their case, they were the leaders of their countries, so either you would
have peace with them or war with them.
The difference it that Osama/KSM were not the leaders of Afghanistan. I
guess, they were no Afghan citizens, either.
So, starting a war with Afghanistan because Osama/KSM attacked US buildings,
that is wacko too.
In general, war is not an occupation for normal people, and I guess, this
also may apply to politics. (If by normality we understand refraining from
killing other people.)
