Thanks for the link to the site. I found out about gun- under
-pillow from “Last Words: The Final Journals of William S.
Burroughs.” It’s not prime Burroughs but the introductory piece
about his last years in Lawrence becomes important to those who are
interested in the fates of the Beats, how each one played it out.
This goes along with Ginsburg’s last poems which has a similar
introductory piece about his last days by someone who underwent them
with him. Along the same lines of joyful morbidity, I also loved
the chapter in “The Pound Era” about how each one in that crowd met
his end, except for Pound himself who was still alive (undergoing his
final silence). For his end, I have a little book text plus pictures
by Peter Ackroyd.
