“He was instructed to spit a lot, his feet were washed in
an herbal decoction, and he was given some tea to drink.

The Principle of Reason

to on legetai pollachos, indeed.

Heidegger, in: Logos, on Heraklitos, asks, with regard to
legein, which is originally not speaking but laying/setting,
and *as such* also and mostly speaking, whether we can afford
to neglect such. He himself speaks of mortal legein. NOT meaning
the catastrophes - one is as good as the other - but the
infinitely more serious fact, that the essence of man is in danger.
Also this is not said to terrify the fearsome, but to offer one
last perspective, under pressure: to see if one still is willing to
acknowledge that such is possible, and man powerless over against it.

if more pressure comes, possibility gets stronger: if one is not capable
of acknowledgment - without which there is no way out (ek-) for Dasein -
, then acknowledgment itself can be seen to be nothing subjective, act-like.
The same goes for all which is simple and essential: gratitude, love, care.
Easy to throw away, so it seems, until it becomes clear that the price
payed is hell on earth. One cannot complain about clarity.

“one is very clear with us” (Rilke)

If it wasn’t for religion, we’d have to make stuff up.
