Hi Michael:
Funny that we were discussing the Ontological *fun-language* or Heidy-speak.
A German book supplier with whom I have dealt with in the past sent news of
a new book on Heidegger [in German] of which the whole raison denture is to
take the piss out of Heidegger’s weird way of torturing the Logos.
A Heidegger-parody:
I quote the blurb:
This book by Joachim Klein. *Permafrost* carries the subtitle *novel* -
more exactly: *Heidegger-novel.* But that is mere window-dressing, because the
action forms only the framework of a sarcastic satire of the philosopher
Martin Heidegger and his language.
The framework of the action: A letter from Heidegger and the answer of the
addressee, are found in the estate of the protagonist’s uncle. It concerns
some double-exposure photos of farmer’s-boots (the famous peasant boots?)
firs and a face. The nephew of the uncle - Caterjarim Megerle -(Mengele?) smells
an investigative-story (journalistic scoop?) and sets out with his friend
and philosophical advisors into the Black forest in order to reveal the secret
of *the Entbergung of *Being.*
Jud: Entbergung is a coinage on Heidegger’s part. It means, essentially,
“disclosure” and becomes Heidegger’s preferred translation of the Greek
aletheia, “truth”.
Out from this constellation of contrivance emerges a firework display of
language-jokes, parodies and satires which encompasses lesser philosophies and
more recent philosophy-history with appropriate political
collateral-damage. Thinkers, that have really existed, duel with fictitious
Heidegger-researcher-groups from England ( the Highteckers*), from the Netherlands (” the
Hejdeggers “), from Japan or from the canton Appenzell in Switzerland. They are
all influenced by Heidegger’s ” open-mindedness to the determination* but are
apparently unsure about exactly what is to be determined by being open to
it?
At least 1933, the master knew the way - the wood-way. (obfuscation or
escape to the Hutte?) The disciples are in on the secret of ” Sein/Seyn ” and “
Nichts/Nychts” but the the game is not given away here.
I would ask The Sour Kraut to review it for us, but judging from the
tartness of his track-record and the sad sum of his recognized accomplishments in
the laughing-gear department (judging by his ghoulish rictus grin rather
than friendly smile on his *web photograph*) *Parody* is not exactly his game,
though ironically, he is himself a living parody (a Heideggerian equivalent
of *the stage Irishman.)
Joachim Klein: Permafrost - A Heidegger-Novel. Conte Publishing House,
Saarbrücken 2006, 265 sides, 14,90 Euro.
Regards,
Jud
