Jud Evans:
Many are the craven apologists Heidegger toadies who have been saying for
years that Heidegger’s philosophical views were completely divorced [did not
reflect] his fanatical Nazism. Below he rants that: *he sees the goal of
philosophy in servitude* and that his mass-murderer hero has awakened this
philosophy. The implication here is that the philosopher of fascism was unhappy with
traditional philosophy as not being Nazi enough, and judging by the fervency
of his Heiling* was relieved that at last a man had appeared who had changed
everything philosophical for the better and more to his personal liking.
Even forgetting about the anti-Semitic* Jewification* diatribe prior to 1933
and his gut-wrenching *Follow The Fuhrer* essay, the conclusion must be
that certainly anything that he wrote between this 1933 and his sojourn in the
lunatic asylum in 1945 was in accord with the new Nazi philosophical spirit
which his Nazi boss had liberated from servitude, and therefore Heidegger’s
output can be seen as being totally Nazi in spirit.
“We see the goal of philosophy in servitude… The Führer has awakened this
will in the nation and has fused it into one single will. No one can be
absent on the day when he displays his will! Heil! Heil!” –
Martin Heidegger, Bekentniss der Professoren, 1933
