Dear Bob,
You announced a call for a phenomenological approach to the current geopolitical situation - could you possibly proffer any ideas yourself? I am genuinely interested to see how that might pan out. I recently read an interesting article by A J Mitchell of Stanford University on Heidegger’s remarks and diagnosis of terror in ‘Basic Problems’, ‘Contributions’, ‘The End of Philosophy’ and a few other texts. It makes fascinating reading but my own fluency and familiarity with these texts is far from ample to offer anything but banal and rehashed versions of what others have already said far more profoundly. So in brief could you please indicate what exactly this form of phenomenological approach would consist in, and perhaps some preliminary remarks regarding its applicability in concrete instances.
Regards,
Eskandar
