which quotes from Sheehan. His essay “KEHRE and EREIGNIS” makes the same point, if my memory serves me right.
It’s hard to make a general statement about the frequency of Eigentlichkeit in early vs later texts without gathering statistics, because he never stops using Eigentlichkeit altogether. However, the sense of it changes away from authenticity (at least in English translations). For example in Contributions (section 177) he says:
“[O]wnedness [Eigentlichkeit] is not to be understood in a moral-existentiell sense, but fundamental-ontologically as an indicator of that Da-sein in which the Da is sustained by one or the other manner of sheltering the truth (in thinking, poetizing, building, leading, sacrificing, suffering, celebrating).”
