Although statistically the chances of being a victim of
the common variety of terrorism are slim, I think the
terror of terrorism does affect many people. That’s why
its terrorism and not just murder. It affects where and
how people decide to travel, how they vote, and in
economical terms there are beaucoup bucks to be made in
the War on Terror ™.

I also think there is an ontological dimension to terror
of terrorism that might provide some interesting insights,
although I have come across them or thunk any myself yet.
