What Makes Heidegger a Transcendentalist?

Jud,
you have often indicated that you classify Heidegger as a
transcendentalist; and, recently you wrote: “Heidegger is simply
religion with *God* removed and *Being* shoved in”.
however, there is little indication that Heidegger believed that the
human individual is a being in a body (where ‘being’ would refer to an
immaterial soul or some other transcendent entity).
in the notation I use to represent psycho-philosophical opinions as to
the structure of the human, I would represent Heidegger’s position as
I-0 = [ I-1 - I-2 ]
this indicates that the human is a human body and its associated
experiencer.
on the other hand, the following structure diagram
I-0 = [ I-1 - I-2 - I-3 ]
could represent a belief that the human is a-soul-within-a-body. it
doesn’t matter whether the body is the tomb of the soul or the
opportunity of a lifetime, there is in Plato and in Descartes an element
that just does not appear in Heidegger.
so, I’m wondering if you would kindly define ‘transcendentalist’ or
otherwise explain the grounds for classifying Heidegger in with Plato
and Descartes.
thanks,
Joe
